The last couple weeks have seen quite an explosion in the number of modded pins showing up in the Coop. There’s been some new people breaking into the modding scene recently, and it’s been really fun seeing what they come up with.
Sean, Matthew, and Garrison are exciting new entrants, Ashlyn and Rachel have some great stuff coming out, Tim continues his quest for the ultimate raw, and even though she’s not accepting more orders, Morgan posted some new pics. Check out a gallery of some recent mods below, and check out the full Gallery of Modded Pins here.
After some confusion and discussion in the Coop, I decided to create a new category for pins, “Side Project/Related”. This is where I’ll list pins for the band members’ various side/solo projects (and Manny too!).
Check it out here!
Kendall recently posted some pics of his collection, including this one showing just how far the market has come since late 2017. If you missed it in the Coop, check it out here:
Also see our post from earlier this year, breaking it down by the numbers.
Now that 2018 is over, I thought it would be interesting to look back over the pin release numbers from the last year.
2018 was definitely a year of explosive growth, both for the band, and for the Pigeons pin/art scene. In January of 2018, the rules regarding designs of non-official merch changed. Prior to that, ALL merch designs had to be approved by the band’s management. The 2018 rules made it a little easier for new designs to come to market, while being very clear on what was allowed/prohibited. This definitely resulted in an exponential increase in the number of pins released, as the numbers below show (though if you’ve spent any time in The Coop, you already knew that).
