Free streams this weekend!

Right about now, we should all be setting up our campsites on Marvin’s Mountaintop and getting ready for a magical weekend of music. Unfortunately, that’s obviously not happening. But maybe some special free streams would help a little?
This weekend, Pigeons will be presenting two special free streams… on Friday 5/15 at 8PM ET they will be showing the famous Funk E 63 Set from 4/15/18 in Port City Music Hall in Portland, ME (known as such because Funk E Zekiel was the only song played for the entire 63-minute set). Saturday (also at 8PM ET) they will be showing their New Years StEve show from 12/31/18 at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA  (featuring Casey Russell from Magic Beans and the West End Blend Horns).

You can watch along live on the Pigeons Facebook page.

Live From Out There – Season 2

The “Live From Out There” series that we enjoyed over the last few weeks has just rolled out their lineup for the next 4 weeks. There’s lots of new names on here, and tons of shows worth checking out. Of course, Pigeons will be involved. From the looks of the announcement graphic, they’ll be showing a new set the weekend of May 22, and archival sets the following two weekends. It’s also worth noting that the streams are moving to a new platform at Livexlive.com (formerly Slacker Radio).

You can buy a subscription here.

Homefest

The band has just announced Homefest: A Virtual Flock Party. Scheduled for June 11-13 2020, this will be “a uniquely curated digital music festival featuring FIVE SETS OF PPPP and more artists TBA, plus a full schedule of community-focused virtual events, workshops and exclusive content!!”.

Early Bird Streaming Packages are available right now, as well as merch add-ons (including High Flyer package deals). See the full article for a rundown of the merch options.

Flock Talk Episode 64

Brad and Thomas have released Flock Talk Episode 64, just in time for the 5th week of the Live From Out There Series. They talk about what they’d like to hear, as well as what’s going on with other artists this weekend. They also get into what the Pigeons boys have been doing with their free time lately, premiere Tommy’s Top Ten and the Bradley Bunch, and discuss the idea of having a “Coach” tour with Pigeons to give them insight on their sets. Finally, they wrap things up with a look at featured Domie Spafford.

Flock Talk Episode 63

Flock Talk has the cure for your Tuesday quarantine blues (it is Tuesday, right?): a new episode! This week, Brad and Thomas give an update on what they’re doing during the down time, discuss the Ghostbusters from Chicago, and review the “Live from Out There” sets, featuring the Pigeons sets of course, but also reviewing other bands’ streams. They’re also featuring a song from SunSquabi this week (which is a band I’ve gotten into thanks to the “Quaranstreams”), so make sure you check it out!

Domefest 2020 Cancelled

Sad sad news. The band has just announced that there will be no Domefest this year (link goes to Facebook post). I think we all pretty much knew that Domefest wouldn’t happen in May, but personally I was hoping it would be rescheduled.

I’m not sure what else to say… I was really looking forward to seeing all my flock family again this year on the mountain. Stay safe out there everyone, I know we’ll get to rage together again!

Live From Out There – A Six Week Online Concert Series

Pigeons just announced that they will be joining the Live From Out There digital concert series! This will be a series of concerts, both live and archival, that will be shown over the next 6 weeks. Proceeds will benefit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which aims to assist music industry professionals through this difficult time.

This weekend, Pigeons will be streaming live, as well as premiering the “Stop Making Cake” Halloween set from the House of Blues this past October, with a total of 5 live-streamed sets planned.

You can order the streams at nugs.tv. There are several options available, including individual sets for $4.99, a weekend pass for $14.99, or $49.99 to see all of the sets over the 6 weeks.
