Homefest Schedule!

The long-awaited schedule for Homefest has finally appeared, and it looks packed!

Things get started Thursday night, with a Homefest Kickoff featuring a personal favorite, Funk You. Pigeons will then play a set, and Angus Leslie (of Sex on Toast) will close things out.

Friday we get started with some workshops (including Manny’s, which is always a favorite), and then Chalk Dinosaur gets us started with the music. Kendall Street Company and Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers are up after that. Pigeons will be playing two sets (including the “Funk EP” set) starting at 8, with a “Domie Retrospective” during set break. Dizgo and Cycles round out the night.

Saturday starts off a little earlier with a bunch of fun workshops, classes, and a Flock dance party. The music portion of the evening begins with some solo/side-project stuff (Ben Plays Piano, Puremotion, and Schwa), followed by YAM YAM, LITZ, and Kitchen Dwellers. Then before Pigeons get started at 8, there will be the premiere of the “Yo Soy Fiesta” music video! After Pigeons second set,  Eggy and Mungion close out the fest.

All in all, it looks to be a fun weekend with great music! I’m looking forward to a bunch of the workshops, and hopefully getting to virtually hang out with the flock!

Single day passes are now available as well as full weekend passes, at homefest.us

Free streams this weekend!

Right about now, we should all be setting up our campsites on Marvin’s Mountaintop and getting ready for a magical weekend of music. Unfortunately, that’s obviously not happening. But maybe some special free streams would help a little?
This weekend, Pigeons will be presenting two special free streams… on Friday 5/15 at 8PM ET they will be showing the famous Funk E 63 Set from 4/15/18 in Port City Music Hall in Portland, ME (known as such because Funk E Zekiel was the only song played for the entire 63-minute set). Saturday (also at 8PM ET) they will be showing their New Years StEve show from 12/31/18 at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA  (featuring Casey Russell from Magic Beans and the West End Blend Horns).

You can watch along live on the Pigeons Facebook page.

Live From Out There – Season 2

The “Live From Out There” series that we enjoyed over the last few weeks has just rolled out their lineup for the next 4 weeks. There’s lots of new names on here, and tons of shows worth checking out. Of course, Pigeons will be involved. From the looks of the announcement graphic, they’ll be showing a new set the weekend of May 22, and archival sets the following two weekends. It’s also worth noting that the streams are moving to a new platform at Livexlive.com (formerly Slacker Radio).

You can buy a subscription here.
